THE VALENTINE

The Valentine opened its doors in 1898 thanks to the contributions of its benefactor Mann S. Valentine, II. Today, The Valentine offers exhibitions that focus on "American urban and social history, costumes and textiles, decorative arts and architecture." To better showcase these historical artifacts, the Valentine partnered with Kjellstrom & Lee to renovate to create open, light-filled gallery spaces that attract the eye and enhance the sensory experience of days long past.

Additional objectives included enlarging and creating more generous and well appointed public restroom facilities; improving lighting throughout; upgrading life safety systems throughout; upgrading the HVAC system to improve air temperature and humidity control for improved comfort and proper environment for the exhibit collections.
