ST. CATHERINE'S SCHOOL

With a relationship that spans over 3 decades, a continual process of building and renovating has taken place at St. Catherine’s School to support the changing needs of its student body and administrative staff. Though there is a commitment to creating a state-of-the-art learning environment, there is also a dedication to maintaining the beauty of the architecture that makes St. Catherine’s unique.

Encompassing more than 100,000 SF in renovations and additions, Mullen, Bacot, Washington and Ellett Halls have been converted from dormitories to state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, art studio, a 350 seat auditorium, and a dining hall that will now seat an entire division of girls.

Complete with warm, durable finishes, the renovation of these historical buildings sought to maintain the architectural features of the original structure while upgrading the MEP systems, creating research spaces that allow for advanced science courses, and adhering to the ADA's standard of accessible design. Some of the more project specific features of this phased renovation include chemical resistant sheet vinyl with fully welded seams, fume hoods, lab gas and lab fuel gas distribution, laboratory vacuum systems, point-of-use acid neutralizers (at each sink), emergency eyewash stations, emergency drenching hoses, emergency showers, and Smartboards.
