Woodberry Forest School - Hanes Hall

Continuing our work with Woodberry Forest School on it's Campus renovation program,  Hanes Hall existing three  story (18,000 SF) library that was gutted on the interior (including asbestos abatement) and rebuilt into a 63-bed dormitory and three  private residences. Included building envelope upgrades; new synthetic slate roofing with integral copper gutters/downspouts, brick point-up, new exterior doors, new LED lighting, new windows, and waterproofing the existing front patio for installation of new pavers. Additionally, a new private patio terrace with storage shed was built for the resident family use. The three (3) interior floors consist of twenty-four (24) double occupancy dorm rooms and five (5) triple occupancy dorm rooms. There are three (3) private apartment residences (one (1) per floor) where faculty live and mentor the boys. Each resident has a full kitchen with custom cabinets and granite countertops. The family unit resident includes three (3) bedrooms, two (2) and a half bathrooms and a living room overlooking Snead Garden. The Commons Room on the main level includes a full kitchen for student use and a central space that functions as a meeting location for the school and a collaboration area for the boys. There is a central student laundry adjacent the Commons Room and each floor has a student restroom with four (4) tiled showers. The Hanes project included all new wiring and HVAC systems, including two (2) new AHUs and dedicated fan coil units serving the dorm rooms. Lastly, two (2) Trane air-cooled stealth chillers and a pre-manufactured Canaaris pumping package were added to the project to provide chilled water to Hanes and other adjacent buildings (future upgrades).
