More than just a place for duke dogs to "feel the burn," the new 136,757 SF UREC addition will provide a place to "learn about healthy lifestyles and develop positive habits."

Featuring new weight, fitness & cardio spaces, six group fitness areas, three super Multi-Activity Centers, an indoor track, and a new pool and spa with a jetted fitness channel, the additional space will eliminate the dog eat dog battle for exercise equipment.

To further support their "lifestyle" wellness approach, JMU and Kjellstrom + Lee are partnering to renovate more than 25,000 SF of existing space. This will include instructional/meeting space equipped with latest technology for groups of up to 200, the Demonstration Kitchen and Wellness Instruction Room, and a Wellness Suite with Studios for Massage.
