Richmond, VA
Owner
The Medical College of Virginia Foundation
Architect
Baskervill
Built in 1839, this town house is the sole reminder of the former residential character of the downtown portion of Richmond’s Broad Street, and is listed on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places. It also serves as an architectural link between its two nationally significant neighbors - Monumental Church and the Egyptian Building. A complete restoration of the house, located on the VCU Health Systems campus in downtown Richmond, included renovations to the existing four-story, 5,006 SF building, along with the construction of a new four-story, 1,998 SF addition. The building currently serves as the headquarters for the Medical College of Virginia Foundation.
